Emphasis is placed on the mechanisms of pain and a thorough understanding of the pharmacology of drugs used in dentistry and their interactions with the patient’s current medical conditions and medications. The course has a self study component which occurs prior to the threeday workshop. Following a review of the information included in the self-study materials, participants will complete a pre-clinical examination which has a passing grade of 70 per cent.
