Objectives

  • Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recognize and manage common arrhythmias. (medical expert, FM expert, professional)
  • Describe which office presentations in primary care should lead to cardiac investigations and/or interventions (scholar, leader)
  • Recognize and manage cardiovascular complications in pregnancy, including risk stratification and interdisciplinary care planning for optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.(advocate, communicator)
  • List recent advances in heart failure and hypertension approaches to meet the needs of diverse and special populations. (collaborator, scholar)
  • List key considerations when interpreting cardiovascular diagnostic tests (e.g., ECG, echocardiogram, stress testing, cardiac biomarkers) and integrate findings into clinical decision-making. (medical expert, FM expert)

Study Credits

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 4.5  Mainpro+ credits.   

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 4.5 hours.
