Objectives
- Enhance clinical skills in dermatologic examination and management, with a focus on early detection, evidence-based treatment, and patient education in both acute and chronic skin conditions.
- Diagnose and manage common pediatric and adult dermatologic conditions in primary care, including chronic eczema, psoriasis, and undifferentiated skin rashes.
- Identify and differentiate dermatologic cancerous and precancerous lesions and apply appropriate surveillance and referral strategies for skin cancer.
- Recognize dermatologic signs that may indicate underlying systemic diseases, such as Lyme disease, and integrate this knowledge into broader clinical assessment.
- Incorporate principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into dermatologic care by recognizing how skin conditions may present differently across skin tones and adapting diagnostic and treatment approaches accordingly.
