This one-credit-per-hour Certified Assessment Activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 2 Mainpro+ credits. ID# This event is an Accredited Simulation-based Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 2 hours. Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended. The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).

Objectives

At the conclusion of this learning event, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the evidence that supports the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in primary care. (Scholar, Medical Expert)
  • List the clinical conditions for which CBT is indicated. (Medical Expert, Health Advocate)
  • Explore the CBT techniques that are useful in the primary care setting. (Medical Expert, Communicator)
  • Apply the CBT techniques in a standardized patient interview based on two different scenarios.

Registrants must complete the following required documentation

  • Session Evaluation
  • Mainpro+ Post-reflective Activity

These documents will be sent to registrants via email or handed out during the event.

Registration

Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Other Health Professions: $200.00

Cancellation Policy
In accordance with CPD Medicine policy:

  • More than 21 days’ notice: A refund will be issued, minus a 20% administrative fee (up to a maximum of $200).
  • Less than 21 days’ notice: No refund will be provided.

Special refund requests may be submitted to the event coordinator for consideration by the Scientific Planning Committee Chair, CPD Director or the Managing Director.
