Description

The annual Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium provides a forum for discussion of the latest management of orthopaedic problems. The topics are designed to appeal to a broad audience and to include all aspects of non-operative and operative musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation. It is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of those participants who have an interest in these issues. The Manitoba Orthopaedic Symposium will cover essential topics in pediatric orthopaedics, hip and knee arthroplasty, sports, trauma, spine, hand, wrist, foot, and ankle surgery.

This event/program will be of interest to: Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physicians, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Athletic Therapists, Residents, and Medical Students.

Objectives

  • Assess the care of the orthopaedic patient, or patients with a musculoskeletal injury. (CanMEDS Role: Medical Expert, Scholar, Professional)
  • Evaluate methods to improve teamwork between various musculoskeletal care providers and allied health practitioners across a variety of settings and community types. (CanMEDS Rols: Collaborator, Communicator, Leader)
  • Identify collaboration and advocacy opportunities between the Manitoba Orthopaedic Society (MOS) and other provincial organizations representing health professionals involved in musculoskeletal care. (CanMEDS Role: Health Advocate, Leader, Collaborator)

Physician: $250.00

Nurses: $75.00

Other Health Professional: $75.00

MOS Member: $25.00

Residents: No charge

Fellow: No charge

 

Cancellation Policy

In accordance with CPD Medicine policy:

  • More than 21 days’ notice: A refund will be issued, minus a 20% administrative fee (up to a maximum of $200).
  • Less than 21 days’ notice: No refund will be provided.

Special refund requests may be submitted to the event coordinator for consideration by the Scientific Planning Committee Chair, CPD Director or the Managing Director.
