PALS IE imag

An enhanced course designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to effectively deliver Heart & Stroke Pediatric Advanced Life Support provider courses.

The PALS Instructor Essentials (PALS IE) course raises the bar in resuscitation instructor education

Are you ready to take your PALS knowledge and skills to the next level? Heart & Stroke’s leading-edge PALS Instructor Essentials course will allow you to create new PALS instructors, empowering you to deliver dynamic case scenarios that mirror real-life pediatric emergencies. You’ll have the opportunity to play different roles while participating in and leading high-performance teams. Some of the life-threatening scenarios that you’ll be tackling head on include respiratory care, management of shock, dysrhythmia and electrical therapy and post-cardiac arrest care. The result: our PALS IE course will equip you to teach, evaluate and improve the core PALS skills of your students.

Aligning with the 2020 guidelines, our PALS IE course provides both online and hands-on learning to develop your PALS instructional skills. Heart & Stroke has also incorporated multiple elements from the 2018 AHA Scientific Statement “Resuscitation Education Science: Educational Strategies to Improve Outcomes From Cardiac Arrest” to enhance the delivery and retention of core resuscitation skills.

Available exclusively in a blended learning format

The PALS IE course is made up of two essential components:

  • The online component, which will focus on administering the PALS course and sharpening your instructor skills to deliver critical PALS concepts during the course’s in-classroom component.
  • The two-day in-classroom component, in which you will be able to dive in and facilitate all PALS Provider course lessons, emphasizing the building and refining of core PALS instructor skills.
