Implantable Birth Control Insertion Skills Session – Fridays at the University
Objectives
By the end of this skills session, participants should be able to:
• Discuss the indications, cost, safety, and efficacy of implantable contraception devices available on the Canadian market today. (Communicator, Family Medicine Expert)
• Implement appropriate patient counselling regarding contraindications, potential complications, and side effects of implantable contraception devices. (Communicator, Collaborator, Family Medicine Expert)
• Demonstrate appropriate implantable contraceptive placement techniques, including strategies for managing difficult insertions and expected post insertion follow up. (Leader, Family Medicine Expert)
Registrants must complete the following required documentation
- Needs Assessment
- Session Evaluation
- Mainpro+ Post-reflective Activity
These documents will be sent to registrants via email or handed out during the event.
Registration
Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Other Health Professions: $200.00
Cancellation Policy
In accordance with CPD Medicine policy:
- More than 21 days’ notice: A refund will be issued, minus a 20% administrative fee (up to a maximum of $200).
- Less than 21 days’ notice: No refund will be provided.
Special refund requests may be submitted to the event coordinator for consideration by the Scientific Planning Committee Chair, CPD Director or the Managing Director.
