Managing Ingrown Toenails Skill sessions – Fridays at the University
Objectives
At the conclusion of this learning event, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the 3 stages of ingrown toenail. (Family Medicine Expert)
- Identify and explain the possible complications of untreated ingrown toenails. (Family Medicine Expert, Communicator)
- Review and explain the non-surgical management of ingrown toenail with patients. (Family Medicine Expert. Communicator)
- Identify the indications and apply the techniques of different surgical modalities to treat ingrown toenail and explain the pros and cons of each. (Family Medicine Expert, Communicator, Leader)
Registrants must complete the following required documentation
- Needs Assessment
- Session Evaluation
- Mainpro+ Post-reflective Activity
These documents will be sent to registrants via email or handed out during the event.
Registration
Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Other Health Professions: $200.00
Study Credits
This event was developed by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity and balance.
This one-credit-per-hour Certified Assessment Activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 2 Mainpro+ credits.
This event is an Accredited Simulation-based Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 2 hours.
Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.
The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
Cancellation Policy
In accordance with CPD Medicine policy:
- More than 14 days’ notice: A refund will be issued, minus a 20% administrative fee (up to a maximum of $100).
- Less than 14 days’ notice: No refund will be provided.
Special refund requests may be submitted to the event coordinator for consideration by the Scientific Planning Committee Chair or the Program Director.
