Description:
In order to address the unique clinical characteristics of each community, the Community-Based CPD Program is offered in three locations*: Steinbach, Morden/Winkler and Thompson (also covering northern sites via MBTelehealth). A community physician for each location is appointed as program chair . These physicians identify the learning needs of their colleagues and work with the U of M CPD Medicine Department to organize these events.
The Community-Based Program is supported by an unrestricted education grant from the Office of Rural and Northern Health.
*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be offered digitally via Zoom.

0930 – 1030 Management of non-malignant H. pylori associated diseases & appropriate use of PPI – Dr. Chetty Muthiah
1030 – 1130 Overview of CKD & proteinuria – Dr. Jay Hingwala
1130 – 1300 Break
1300 – 1400 Managing seizure disorder –antiepileptic selection & follow up – Dr. Marcus Ng

Registration:
Physicians: $175 per lecture session
Other health professionals: $65 per lecture session
Residents/students: $30 per lecture session
Skills workshops: $250 each
Only paid registrants can receive credits and access speakers’ presentations post-event.
A full refund less a $35 administrative fee will be given if cancelled 14 days or more before each event date. No refund will be given past this date.
Credits:
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for up to 4.0 Mainpro+ credits.
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a maximum of 4.0 hours.
Participants should only claim credit for the actual number of hours attended.
The University of Manitoba CPD Medicine Program is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
