DESCRIPTION

Cardiovascular disease continues to be a major disease burden in terms of both mortality and health related quality of life, and is an important source of health inequalities between populations in Canada. This one and one-half day program will provide an overview of controversies and uncertainties in the areas of treatment and intervention of cardiovascular disease.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • Provide an update in cardiovascular diseases utilizing short lectures, panel discussions, audience – faculty interaction, workshops, and Spotlight Sessions
  • Focus on issues related to Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, Chest Pain and Primary Prevention
  • Understand current approaches to the management of low-EF Heart Failure, ACS Management and Women’s Health
  • Become acquainted with Palliative Care in Heart Failure
