Description

Cardiovascular disease continues to be a major disease burden in terms of both mortality and health related quality of life, and is an important source of health inequalities between populations in Canada. This one-day program will provide an overview of controversies and uncertainties in the areas of treatment and intervention of cardiovascular disease.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this educational activity participants should be able to:

  • Better manage multiple cardiac issues arising in their office practices
  • Improve patient education on the nature of proposed complex cardiac interventions
  • Clearly explain the issue of Advance Care planning with patients and families
  • Identify the indications for interventions upon certain valve lesions
